iOS 27 code confirms foldable iPhone Ultra may feature Touch ID
A blogger stated that code related to digital vehicle keys was added to the iOS 27 Beta 4 system, alongside the appearance of an iPhone model supporting Ultra Wideband (UWB) and equipped with Touch ID. For reference, all UWB-capable iPhones currently offered by Apple utilize Face ID (Note from IT Home: Neither iPhone SE 2 nor SE 3 supports UWB).
Tech outlet MacRumors refuted this, noting that references to Touch ID frequently appear in Apple's software code, but such code does not necessarily correspond to specific new hardware. Additionally, the iOS system retains many legacy historical terms, meaning you can still find iPod-related strings in recent iOS versions.
Therefore, while it is widely anticipated that the foldable iPhone Ultra will adopt Touch ID, this snippet cannot be used as definitive proof. We must wait for Apple to officially reveal the answer on September 10.
